Listen

It’s suggested that a person considering this diet develop an understanding with their body to recognize your body’s natural hunger cues. Once you have a locked-down understanding of those cues, don’t ignore them. Hungry- then eat.
Use Your Internal Clock
It’s 12 pm and although others at the office are eating you may not be hungry. So the simple solution is to not eat until you feel ready. The key to this form of eating isn’t dependent on a structure but rather using your body as a guide to only eat when u feel the need too.
Reform Your Opinions Of Food
The great thing about intuitive eating is that no foods are forbidden. Once foods have that label placed on them they end up holding a lot more power over us than food usually would. When you’re not preventing yourself from eating the things you enjoy you take away the cravings for them and the all too common tendency to overeat on those foods we end up saving for cheat days.
Eat Consciously
Just took a pizza out of the oven? Let it cool! Grab a glass of cold water, throw on your favorite show, and plate up your dinner. Putting in the effort to make eating more of experience allows you to savor all the components of your meal. When we don’t take the time to enjoy our food, we sometimes wanting to eat more.
Treat Emotions Differently
Cravings that keep nagging at you but you’re not actually hungry? Try to delve into why you’re feeling the way you are. What’s actually the root cause of why you’re feeling the way you are? Before giving in to your cravings, try taking a nap, talking to someone, or finding ways to rework the stress your feeling into a new direction.
Exercise
No matter how much you exercise you can’t outrun a bad diet. With an intuitive eating focus on not going to the gym to lose calories but rather eating in a way you that leaves you feeling stronger and ready to tackle a physical activity, you chose to take part in.
Slow Down
Enjoy eating, slow down, and make sure to chew thoroughly. It’s part of our society that eating is just something we tend to rush through. Yet, that doesn’t mean you can’t combat this because not every meal or snack needs to be inhaled. Instead, take your time in order to engage the senses that will ultimately alert you when you’ve eaten enough.
If diets aren’t working try reworking how you approach eating by listening to the internal cues from your body. Intuitive eating is a great option to get to know your body better but also rework your understanding of how you eat.
