How to Reach Millennials This Hiring Season

We don’t need to be the ones to tell you that hiring season is fast approaching, if not already happening! With a wave of new millennials coming into your office, we have 3 tips on how to reach them and keep them.

1. Appreciation Does Not Go Unnoticed

Millennials have a deep desire to do meaningful work or at least have their work make a difference. If they’re doing a good job, let them know. Acknowledgment and appreciation can come in all different forms. Frequent evaluations and quick responses to their questions and ideas will have them working harder and more determined to succeed than you might expect.

2. A flexible schedule and work environment

This is can be a hard adaption to make but the Millennials in the office will be grateful. The bottom line is: Millennials hate wasting time. Their hard workers who are willing to put in long hours when necessary.  Having a work environment that allows them to work from home and wear what they want occasionally is a great way to develop loyalty and employee satisfaction among this hiring group.

3. Engage & Invest

Allow Millennials to grow into their position. Offer them ways to advance in their career such as obtaining extra training and education that will allow them to move up or into other positions.

Don’t know where to start? Ask them what makes them feel valued and go from there. 

Not only are you showing them that you value them but they’re worth more than just the hours they put into their work. Keeping a Millennial invested and engaged are the two key ingredients needed in order to turn them into loyal and long-term employees.

Sometimes adjustments and adaptation is needed to maintain corporate wellness but finding a balance between quality of life and work-life balance with supply you with employees who are dedicated and unwavering.
