- Select a ripe one that is bright red, evenly colored skin that gives slightly when squeezed.
- Use a sharp knife and cut straight through the fruit, slicing it in half.
- You can use a spoon to eat the fruit out of the skin or peel the skin off and slice the pulp into small pieces.

It’s a low-calorie fruit that is high in fiber and provides a good amount of several vitamins and minerals.
It contains several antioxidants that protect your cells from damage. These include betalains, hydroxycinnamates, and flavonoids.
In animal studies, it was suggested that dragon fruit may improve insulin resistance, liver fat, and heart health. However, the results of human studies are inconsistent.
